Who Am I

Who Am I

By Larry Wilson

Who am I, to complain when my food is overcooked or not done.

When there are children who have no meals, not even one.

Who am I, to complain when I have no desert or a treat.

When there are children, living in the street.

Who am I, to complain about a little cold and rain.

When there are children who are beaten and abused, suffering with pain.

Who am I, to complain about my job.

When there are children, in order to keep alive, have to rob.

Who am I, to complain when things don’t go right.

When there are children who are all alone, each and every night.

Who am I, to complain when my light bill is too high.

When there are children who’s only roof, is the night sky.

Who am I, when my feelings get hurt.

When there are children, with broken hearts, who feel like nothing more than dirt.

Who am I, that when I pray, I pray only for me.

When there are children who’s life has no guarantee.

Who am I,O’LORD, who am I to have always complained.

When there are children, who’s emotionally drained.

Father, I pray, for these children who’s lives are shattered and torn.

You knew their names before they were born.

I pray YOU give them a peaceful and loving home.

Where the streets they will no longer roam.

Father, reach down from heaven above.

For YOU are the creator of love.

I pray YOU touch and heal their hearts of anger and pain.

Who am I, O’LORD, to ever again complain.
